LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine spent Eid-ul-Fiter in his constituency Okara while on the first day of Eid, he visited Central Jail Sahiwal and distributed Eidi and gifts among the prison staff.
The provincial minister also visited the kitchen of the prisoners where he checked the food prepared for the prisoners in the jail and showed satisfaction on it, also reviewed the treatment facilities for the prisoners in the jail. On the occasion addressing to the prisoners, the provincial minister said that Government of The Punjab released the prisoners, were convicted for minor offenses to share the joy of Eid with their loved ones as the PTI's slogan is to hate crime not to human beings. The day after Eid, the provincial minister distributed rations among the Christian community and deserving people at the Catholic Church in Okara.
During distribution, all the instructions regarding the corona virus were strictly followed. The provincial minister Ijaz Alam Augustine while expressing his views said that the PTI’s government is standing by its Christian community in this difficult time because it was fact that the middle class, especially the wagers and laborers were worried due to COVID. He also appealed to the people to ensure SOPs by the Punjab Government and assured them that entire nation come out of this predicament very soon under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar.
