OIC Secretary-General Meets Kazakhstan’s President

As part of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received at his residence in Jeddah on July 24, 2022, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha.

President Tokayev praised the significant role undertaken by the OIC General Secretariat and the Secretary-General in leading the OIC’s efforts to promote joint Islamic action and consolidate the spirit of Islamic solidarity stressing the special attention his government attaches to the OIC and strengthening cooperation with it in all fields.

In turn, H.E. the Secretary-General valued the active membership of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the OIC and its efforts in supporting its activities and promoting joint Islamic action through various initiatives. Brahim Taha affirmed the OIC’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan in all areas of common interest.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged opinions on many issues of common concern, including supporting peace and security in the countries of the region and the world and taking due care of the interests of the OIC and its Member States.
