LAHORE: Waseem Khan, chief executive officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board, told media via video link on Tuesday evening that the results of the code 19 test of Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hasnain, Fakhr Zaman, Imran Khan and Kashif Bhatti have been positive.
He said that Malang Ali, a member of the team supporting staff, also tested positive. It may be recalled that on Monday, three players Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Haider Ali tested positive for corona. Thus, out of the 29-member squad announced for the tour of England, the tests of ten players have come positive.
Wasim Khan said that the Pakistan team's tour of England will be as usual and the team will leave for England on June 28. He said that the ten players who have tested positive will remain in isolation and after that they will have re-tests and if cleared they will be able to tour England.
Wasim Khan said: "It is definitely a difficult situation to face but the tour of England is important because we have to bring cricket back. For the next 18 months, code and cricket will be together.
Wasim Khan said the players had already been told the guidelines and were also told to report to the Pakistan Cricket Board immediately if anyone in their family showed signs of corona. However, Wasim Khan has ruled out any action against the players.
