The Department of Physiotherapy, in cooperation with the Quality Department of the Emirates Health Services (EHS), organised a workshop entitled "Preparing for the Successful Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities", with the aim of enhancing the capabilities and skills of the participants for enhanced performance and improving the quality of their services.

This workshop comes within the framework of a series of events organised by various departments of EHS to improve quality and efficiency of their services. All the EHS services have to meet global standards to receive approval from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

The workshop was conducted by Terence Carolan, Director General of CARF, in addition to the heads of physiotherapy departments in hospitals. The workshop trained the participants on the most prominent methodologies and practices for implementing rehabilitation services.

Dr. Abdullah Al Naqbi, Executive Director of the Supportive Health Services Sector at EHS, confirmed that organising this workshop comes in continuation of the EHS’ efforts to adopt top-notch programmes and facilities and enhance the skills of all departments under its umbrella. It is part of its vision to provide sustainable and integrated health services meeting the highest quality standards consistent with international standards.

CARF is an independent, not-for-profit body that aims to promote quality, values and optimal outcomes, by focusing on enhancing the lives of people who have received rehabilitation services.
