Abbottabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the Journalists Protection Bill will soon get the approval of the Assembly for the welfare of journalists, medical treatment facilities and solution of the problems faced by them. Hindko will also establish a Hindko branch of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), including the inclusion of Hindko in radio broadcasts in the promotion of languages, and will rehabilitate PTV Bureau and Radio Pakistan employees in Abbottabad. He was talking to a delegation of journalists led by President Abbottabad Press Club Muhammad Amir Shehzad Jadoon in Islamabad yesterday. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that Hazara is a fertile region and the journalists of Abbottabad Press Club will take practical steps to ensure medical treatment and facilities and provide welfare. The PTI government is committed to ending frustrations, he said. Earlier, National Assembly Member Ali Khan Jadoon also briefed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz about the efforts made by the journalists of Abbottabad Press Club for the development of Hazara and establishment of law and order. Senator Shibli Faraz said that media is an important means of conveying the issues of the people to the houses of power. From Abbottabad, the capital of Hazara, the issues of the region were better covered by the media and got the attention of the government. According to its manifesto, it has started work on various welfare schemes to improve the lives of the common man. In the past, governments have never been able to focus on this. He said that it is a great achievement to provide up to Rs 7 lakh treatment facility to every family by linking the Health Justice Card with the identity card. On the occasion, President Abbottabad Press Club Muhammad Amir Shehzad Jadoon apprised the Federal Minister of the problems faced by the journalists of Abbottabad. Emphasis was placed on ensuring better facilities for the welfare and treatment of journalists, to which Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz assured to visit Abbottabad in February and resolve the issues.
