PIA flight crashed in Karachi, 57 Died

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight from Lahore to Karachi crashed 30 seconds before landing in Karachi, died 57 people on board.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa have expressed regret over the accident. Quick access recorder was found in the black box of the crashed plane. According to the sources, the quick access recorder was handed over to the civil aviation authorities.

According to aviation sources, PIA flight PK8303 was scheduled to land at Jinnah International Airport at 2.40 pm. The plane was on a landing approach when it crashed into the population of Jinnah Garden near Malir Model Colony, just a few kilometers from the Jinnah terminal at Karachi Airport.

There were reports that 98 people, including 91 passengers and seven crew members, were on board. The plane caught fire after the crash, which also engulfed the nearby population.
