US Launches Probe into Military Intervention in Presidential Election

WASHINGTON DC: The U.S. military is investigating two U.S. military personnel in uniform in a video released at a Democratic National Convention virtual event. The controversial video raises questions about the military's involvement in US politics ahead of the November presidential election. The U.S. military says in a statement that it is "unacceptable" to attend any such biased, political event in uniform.

To avoid the impression of supporting or endorsing or sponsoring any political candidate, campaign or goal, the US Department of Defense follows a clear policy regarding political campaigns and elections.

On the other hand, the representative of the Democratic National Convention says that the appearance of American soldiers in uniform in the video was not intentional, it happened unintentionally.

A representative of the Democratic National Convention said the video showed two uniformed military personnel standing behind the delegations. At Tuesday's virtual event, each state and region chose a background that was symbolically significant to them.
