“My dream can wait:” inspired Emirates Loto winner sets up YouTube channel to help those in need

Dubai UAE: 38-year-old UAE resident from the Philippines claimed a huge AED 166,666 from an Emirates Loto draw on 23 May 2020, and has used his good fortune to try his hand at becoming an influenceron a dedicated mission to give back to the community.

“From the moment I was lucky enough to win Emirates Loto, my life totally changed both financially and in terms of opportunity. I became known in the UAE Filipino community and my life story was even featured back at home by famous TV personality KorinaSanchez in her program ‘Rated K’, said William.

William’s lifelong dream of returning to the Philippines to open a restaurant business is now within reach; however hehas chosen to keep his own dreams on hold while taking advantage of his newfound recognition by building a YouTube channel called ‘Yayam’s TV’ that is designed to help people in need. Once he begins to earn a living from his channel, William will feature a program entitled “Your Dream is My Command” which will help those who are in need, such as those who seek medical attention or homeless.

While he follows his new path in life, William has decided to keep his job as a document controller with the same company; he will remain the breadwinner for this family and continue to support his two children, mother, brothers and his neighbours back in his home town.

Prior to winning Emirates Loto William spent all of his savings on helping his family who were in need when the pandemic began. As soon as William won, he sent some money to his family, and he also sent groceries to many in his home town who had also been greatly affected by the pandemic.

William continued: “When the Emirates Loto draws return later this year, I will still participate because every time a collectable is bought, the AED 35 goes towards helping someone in need. Now is a time that feels as though others need help and support more than ever, and I have been inspired by Emirates Loto to continue in working to support those who need it more than myself.”

Emirates Loto is set to re-launch after the summer and will continue to work behind the scenes ahead of its first draw. Emirates Loto will also continue to support communities across the UAE and beyond through philanthropic and CSR initiatives that are aligned with its corporate mission and values.
