Dubai-UAE: EWINGS, the managing operator of Emirates Loto has donated AED50,000 to Emirates Red Crescent to help victims of the devastating blast that took place in Lebanon last week. The explosions that tore through the port in Beirut killed hundreds and injured thousands and destroyed swathes of the city. The contribution will go towards the distribution of care packages containing medical, sanitary and food supplies.
Paul Sebestyen, CEO of EWINGS, the managing operator of Emirates Loto, said: “EWINGS joins Emirates Red Crescent in its inspirational drive to support the people of Beirut as they work to heal and rebuild the city, following last week’s tragic event. We too watched in horror as devastation unfolded over those few seconds; Lebanon’s capital now faces a long road to recovery for its people, families, businesses and communities. Today our partnership with Emirates Red Crescent will ensure that care packages containing medical, sanitary products as well as food supplies are given to those people who need our help.”
Sebestyen continued: “It is within our brand ethos to support those communities that we operate in and beyond but, importantly, it is also our obligation to serve humanity during times of need. And also to let the brave and resilient people of Beirut know that they are not – and will never be – alone.”
‘We are grateful for EWINGS’ contribution to Beirut’s blast victims which will go to those that need it the most,” said Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent in Dubai. “This tragedy will have long-term ramifications on the city and we hope that organizations such as EWINGS continue to open up their hearts and support the Lebanese capital’s resilient and brave people.”
