Unilabs receives EIAC accreditation for conducting Covid-19 PCR testing

Unilabs, the leading Swiss diagnostic service provider, has recently obtained the ISO 15189 in conducting Covid-19 PCR testing from the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) which is internationally recognized from the ILAC in the field of medical labs.

This was announced after the issuance of the EIAC expert group report which is based on the competence standards and protocols of international medical labs. 

Unilabs is the UAE’s first private laboratory network to receive this international accreditation, which comes as part of its commitment to implementing the highest international quality standards.

Amina Ahmed Mohammed, Executive Director, EIAC, said: “The accreditation of Covid-19 PCR testing, based on the ISO 15189:2012 for the competence of medical labs, would help strengthen the position of the UAE at all levels, in particular, the quality of health services. This would help boost the reliability and recognition of the test results of these labs both locally and globally.”
