Ras Al Khaimah: RAK Hospitality Holding and Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa has announced its support of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation. Through this initiative, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, owned by RAK National Hotels, a subsidiary of RAK Hospitality Holding, will donate IT equipment and furniture to the charity, as well as working together on a long-term partnership, set to be launched by the end of the year.
The Foundation helps underprivileged students in the Emirate with access to education and allows them to pursue their career aspirations. It also grants educational scholarships.
Hilton, a leading hospitality brand known for giving back to local communities around the world, wanted to support the Foundation and are in discussions to develop a long-term program. Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa donated furniture from the hotel and more than 20 computers, which will then be placed in schools around the Emirate.
Sumaya Abdulla Al Suwaidi, chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, said: “We are so grateful for this sizable donation and are happy that both RAK Hospitality Holding LLC and Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa want to partner with us on a number of upcoming initiatives. The more partners we have onboard, the more students we can help achieve their dreams in Ras Al Khaimah.”
Helen Jacobe, Hilton Cluster General Manager, said: “For a while now, we have been seeing all the amazing work that the Foundation has been doing locally and we wanted to support in some way both short-term and on future initiatives. We look forward to closely working together to support as many students as we can.”
Alison Grinnell, CEO of RAK Hospitality Holding, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation, which is in line with our desire to support UAE-based social and charitable institutions. We are proud to support the foundation as an integral part of our responsibility towards the community.”
