Introducing Arqus from Qualisys: Motion Capture At its Highest Form

Gothenburg Sweden: Leading motion capture provider, Qualisys, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, announces the launch of its newest motion analysis camera platform that will shock its competitors – the Arqus. Alluding to, Argus, the Greek god of 100 eyes, the Arqus camera directly reflects the all-seeing nature of the centuries-old story.

The new camera provides unprecedented accuracy and detail, equipped with a brand new 26 MP full-FOV sensor – an astronomical leap, which surpasses the resolution of any other motion capture camera in the market by 10MP or more.

The complexity and sheer speed of athletic movements associated with sports such as golf, baseball, and tennis, are no match for the Arqus, which captures at 1400 frames per second at full FOV. This capability, along with advanced marker detection algorithms, allows for in-depth analyses and insights that would go unnoticed in other mocap cameras.

Couple this with a wide array of compatible lenses, a 50% more powerful strobe, and embedded active filtering technology, the Arqus platform will always operate where and when you need it to. All four Arqus models are available in an IP67 protected variant to measure in strong sunlight and extended temperature range, allowing researchers to capture athletes’ motions where it matters most – where they perform.

With industry-leading specs and unmatched resolution, the all-weather Arqus was carefully designed with the user in mind. The new camera provides excellent portability, sporting a new integrated quick-release plate in addition to the standard ¼" tripod mounts. It utilizes the same unique daisy-chaining capability as its predecessor, the Miqus, which results in nearly 80% less cabling than other systems.

Simply put, the Arqus motion capture camera provides easy to use operation, all-weather capabilities, and sports a collection of industry-leading specifications that makes it the highest-performing piece of motion capture equipment available on the market today.
