Agra New Delhi: India's Taj Mahal, which was due to reopen to tourists on Monday, will remain closed indefinitely due to an increase in corona virus victims in Agra and other parts of the country.

The Agra Fort and Akbar's Tomb in Agra city will also remain closed to tourists. Authorities have not set a new date for the reopening. Corona virus cases are on the rise in India. More than 24,000 victims have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours. With 697,000 confirmed cases, India currently ranks third in the list of countries most affected by the epidemic, behind Russia.
