ISLAMABAD: A three-day tourist family festival has started in the federal capital Islamabad from Friday. The three-day festival will provide the best entertainment facilities to the citizens of Islamabad and its environs. The ministers said that a splendid fair has been organized for the citizens on the special directive of the Prime Minister, events have been organized for the interest of children and women in the fair, citizens are requested to participate in full.
A colorful opening ceremony of the festival was held at F-Nine Park on Friday in which Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz, Minister for Civil Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza, Minister for Planning and Development A large number of citizens including Asad Umar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari, officials of Pakistan Paraglides Association participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz said that a splendid festival has been organized for the citizens on the special directive of the Prime Minister. Domestic and foreign delegates are participating in the fair. The fair was organized by the private sector and the government has provided full support. He said that paragliding is not an expensive hobby at all, young people should take part in this sport. Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Fehmida Mirza said that for the first time the sports and tourism departments are jointly organizing the festival.

He also congratulated the Paragliders Association for organizing this event. He said that he is excited for this festival. He said that paragliding would be encouraged all over the country including Gilgit-Baltistan as it is an important source of tourism promotion. A similar event will be held in Gwadar. Zulfi Bukhari said that paragliding, para-tropping, children's food stalls and food items will be available at the fair. The three-day festival has various events for the interest of children. The fair features horse-drawn carriages, children's games and food.
